Let’s Go Global
Let’s Go Global
We
are living in the age of globalization where the world is becoming a global
village. To expand the bounds of thinking and understanding of the students as well
as the teachers towards a wider outlook of the world around them, we at St.
Xavier’s World School have taken up the initiative to work on the principle of
"Think Globally, Act Locally" by participating in the British Council
International School Award(ISA).
The British Council is the UK’s international organization
for cultural relations and educational opportunities. The ISA is a
bench marking scheme that accredits schools as having an outstanding level
of support for:
●
Nurturing global citizenship in young people● Enriching teaching and learning
The
International School Award has its presence in 31 countries worldwide.
It has always been the school's endeavour to impart
quality education to its students and equip them with essential skills to
emerge as responsible global citizens. Under the ISA initiative, the school is
going to have a bonanza of activity throughout the academic year 2019-20
embedding International learning across the school and curriculum.
The wide array of activities are divided into 7 major
activities, out of which 4 are in -house activities and 3 are collaborative
activities with partner school from different countries.
The students will share their knowledge and views on
different global issues through technology based mediums like Skype sessions,
British Council Connecting Classroom’s Project Spaces, e-mails etc. The ISA
activities carried out throughout the session will involve the participation of
all the students and the staff.
ISA
is a leadership challenge and fosters team building, innovation, and project
management. The school has revised its policy to include international
dimension and has appointed two ISA Coordinators Ms. Shruti Kamra and Ms.
Shaily Tanwar for the same purpose. The coordinators will also complete two
courses with British Council.
A
dossier of all the activities conducted during the year will be compiled as
evidence and submitted for approval to the British Council which will entitle
us for the International School Award.
